What does the local ZIP subset contain?

The table below counts records in that 732-record subset by directory category. It offers a starting point for exploring the category directory, rather than a measure of market share or business quality.

Home services and restaurants are useful starting categories for everyday local searches. Professional services, retail, health and community categories give readers additional ways to explore the directory. A category's larger count means more matching records in this snapshot; it does not mean the category is more important or that every matching business is currently available.

How were these counts calculated?

We queried the application's listing records at 17:25 UTC on October 4, 2026 and retained records whose status was ACTIVE. For the local subset, we applied a stored ZIP-code prefix filter of 38654.

For each top-level category, a record counted once if either its primary category or one of its assigned categories matched that top-level category or a direct child category. The calculation used distinct listing records within each category. It did not count every category assignment as a separate business.

A single listing can match more than one category, so the category counts overlap. Do not add the rows together to infer a unique business total. The method follows the directory's category assignments, including direct children; it does not independently reclassify businesses or recursively count deeper descendants.

What are the limitations?

Stored ZIP codes can be missing, stale or incorrect. Filtering on that field does not prove that a business physically operates within city boundaries. The 13 active records outside this subset were excluded from the table, but some could still serve Olive Branch customers.

The directory can also contain records that need corrections. An ACTIVE status describes whether a listing is publicly eligible in the directory, not an independent audit of ownership, licensing, hours or business operations. A business may have changed since its record was last updated.

This snapshot should therefore be read as a dated description of OliveBranchHub's own records. It is not a claim that the site covers every local business or that a category's count establishes the number of providers you can hire today.
